About Yukie
Born in Suginami City and raised in Tokorozawa, she is currently based in Tokyo and also spends time in Bali and the United Kingdom. Growing up with a father who worked as a musician, she was surrounded by artists and creative individuals from an early age.
After graduating from a public high school, she began working for a general company in Japan. However, feeling a growing sense of discomfort with the conventional career path, she left her job in her fourth year as a working professional. She then attended an English conversation school for two years before moving to the United States to study psychology at university. After graduation, she traveled through Costa Rica and Mexico before returning to Japan, where she worked for a multinational IT company.
Later, she married a British man and became a mother. Following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, she relocated to Bali, Indonesia with her son. After spending approximately three years there, she returned to Japan and began her counseling career while attending graduate school in Tokyo to study clinical psychology.
During graduate school, she encountered the concept of Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), which helped her better understand the deep sense of discomfort and sensitivity she had experienced throughout much of her life. Through encounters with books, counselors, and healers, she gained insight and healing while building clinical experience across various fields. She is now the founder of “Inner Peace,” an HSP-focused coaching and counseling practice.
